• Bottle feeding should have stopped by baby’s first birthday!
  • Only put milk and water in your baby’s bottle.
  • Never leave your baby alone with a bottle.
  • Do not use a bottle as a comforter.
  • Feeder cups can be introduced from around 6 months.
  • Look for cups that are free-flowing with no valve to discourage sucking.
  • Handles are a great way to involve your baby.
  • As soon as baby is confident drinking independently try an open cup.
  • A sipper lid can help to encourage baby to drink from the rim – without making too much mess!
  • A straw may also be a good tool!
