This is a vital time to ensure oral hygiene is embedded into the daily routine.

At this age children should be taking more responsibility for their own health.

Twice daily toothbrushing and daily flossing will greatly reduce your chances of tooth decay and gum disease.

  • Brush your teeth and gums twice a day.
  • Use fluoride toothpaste (with at least 1350ppm Fluoride).
  • Spit out the toothpaste and do not rinse with water. Water only dilutes the fluoride and therefore you’re losing the benefits.
  • Clean teeth and gums interdentally at least once a day (try floss, tape or interdental brushes).
  • The brush at bedtime is the most important one – make sure you only take water to bed.
